How do you sharpen a partially serrated knife?
Thinking about getting a partially serrated edge but don’t know how to sharpen. Do I need to take it to a professional? Do I need an electric sharpener? Or can I simply use a manual hand sharpener?

but it is not very sharp its kinda rounded. I want to use it to break ice. So how can I sharpen the edge of the edger. I have an electic knife sharpener, but I think i will break my sharpener, if I put it threw it.

This is how I reprofiled & sharpened my convex knife (Part 1 of 2). I decided to leave the entire reprofiling & sharpening session uncut, so that those who have not done convexing before will have an idea how the whole process is like. I also point out things to note within the process. Sharpening ends in Part 2, where I also show a sharpness test. Reprofiling & Sharpening Tools Made Easy: 1. Leather Strop – with black & green compounds, one on each side. Also acts as an important platform for the sandpaper sanding to achieve that convex on the edge. 2. Different grits of sandpaper, ranging from coarse to fine. To restore a damaged edge, start with as coarse as 100-grit. For normal sharping, starting with 320 or 400 will do. However, always end with 1000 & 2000 grit sandpaper! 3. Cloth – to wipe off grit & metal powder from the blade from time to time. For those new to convex sharpening/reprofiling, this video shows it is a relatively easy skill to pick up, requiring only 3 essential items. Have fun!
