I just bought an old vintage stiletto but its dull as hell. I’m wondering how to sharpen it correctly (without screwing up the blade). I have a regular kitchen knife sharpener but don’t know if I should use that. Any ideas?
No its like a long block with like a "V"shaped area to run the blade down.
I bought this titanium dive knife and it isn’t very sharp and I’d like to get a nice edge on it. Can I use the knife sharpener in my kitchen knife block?
My wife has threatened divorce if I get any more but this is what I have

1 blender
1 hand mixer
1 stick blender
2 food processors (big and small)
1 toaster
1 pasta machine
1 crepe maker
1 cotton candy machine
1 crock pot
1 wine chiller
3 juicers (not my fault…..wedding gifts or shower gifts)
1 electric skillet
1 fully automatic ice cream machine
1 freezer bowl ice cream machine
1 microwave
2 refrigerators
1 spice grinder
1 bread machine
1 electric smoker
2 drip coffee makers
1 espresso machine
2 electric perk coffee makers (one huge and one 10 cup)
1 electric knife sharpener
1 waffle iron
1 steamer/rice maker
1 vacuum sealer
1 dish washer
1 electric scale
And, I bet somebody is going to put something on their list that I forgot. Is there anybody out there that has a more ridiculous list than I (and trust me, half of my list is a waste).
I recently caught the high end pocket knife bug. I bought myself a small Chris Reeve Sebenza pocket knife a few weeks ago and it has gotten a little dull. I tried to sharpen it on an old sharpening stone my grandpa gave me and being unexperienced at sharpening, not only did it seem to make my knife more dull then it already was, it also put a few ugly scratches on the side of my nice knife.
Anyway, getting to the point… I ordered a nicer Spyderco knife sharpener online but I’ve noticed in a few youtube instructional videos that a lot of people use a leather strop on their knife after they sharpen it. I was wondering if I needed to go order a leather strop. What does the strop do for me?
@Colonol: It’s a Small Sebenza. So far it’s the only knife I have other than an old buck knife.
I was wondering what the best options were for a pocket knife sharpener. I bought that gerber sharpener thing but it seems to dull the knife more that sharpen it.
but it is not very sharp its kinda rounded. I want to use it to break ice. So how can I sharpen the edge of the edger. I have an electic knife sharpener, but I think i will break my sharpener, if I put it threw it.
so i just bought some swords and i will not have a car to drive to a knife sharpener place. so i have to walk but i want to make sure that by Colorado state laws if i have a unconcealed sheathed sword would i be able to carry them to a knife sharpener place or would i be braking any laws doing that? please give me a link to where i can find this specifically in the law books if you can.
thank you.

In this video, I use my SOG Field Pup to field dress Haley Heath’s elk. Afterward, I touched it up on the Wicked Edge for a couple of seconds and then shaved my month old beard.
